Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1/4 cup fruit or shredded cheese (100g shredded cheddar cheese & 1 diced jalapeño)
- Up to max 3/4 cup buttermilk
Steps
- Mix dry ingredients
- Grate butter into dry mix; periodically mix to coat shredded butter with dry mix
- Add fruit or cheese
- Add buttermilk a littttle at a time (might not need all of it) up to ½ cup, mix and add a little more until the dough isn’t sticky
- Make sure not to over-mix or over-knead
- Shape into circle and cut into 6 scones; place on baking sheet
- Bake at 350F for 8 minutes, rotate tray 180 degrees, then bake 8 more minutes
